Palak Gosht
* Palak Gosht *
INGREDIENTS:
Mutton [Gosht] - ½ kilo
Oil - ¼ cup
Onion - 1 medium size (finely sliced)
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Tomato - 2 medium size (finely chopped into thin small slices)
Spinach [Palak] - 1 bunch (finely chopped)
Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
Haldi powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Cumin [Zeera] powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Fenugreek [Dry kasuri methi] - a pinch [as req]
Butter - as req
Fresh coriander leaves [Hara dhania] - as req
METHOD:
1. Heat ¼ cup oil in a pan, add sliced onion and sauté it till light brown, add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste mix it and cook for 1 min till the aroma of ginger garlic is absorbed in the onion and oil.
2. Add mutton pieces mix it and cook till the water from the mutton is fully absorbed and the mutton become dry.
3. Then add the finely sliced tomatoes, mix and cook till the tomatoes become soft and juicy.
4. Then add the finely chopped palak leaves into the gosht mixture mix it well and cook.
5. Now give flavor to the dish - for that add 1 tbsp red chili pwd, 1 tsp haldi pwd, 1 tsp garam masala pwd, 1 tsp zeera pwd and salt mix it well, add 2 cups of water mix it again, then add a pinch of dry kasuri methi powder, cover it with lid and cook on slow gas flame giving it dum.
6. Lastly add some butter in it, garnish with hara dhania.
